Campers have the opportunity to take instruction
in three of ten great achievement areas:
Horsemanship: If you'd like to learn all about horses, this elective is for you! You will begin with the basics of grooming and riding, and may continue to work on CHA certification in horsemanship. Trail rides and daily classes make this elective a fun opportunity to work with our friends on four legs.

Outdoor Discovery: This elective encourages campers to explore the natural habitat at Camp Judson with an emphasis on ecology and good stewardship of the natural resources provided by God. It's a great opportunity to walk our new trails, see the famous Elephant Tree, and wade along the shore of Lake Erie. Campers learn how to take care of God's creation through fun and exciting outdoor activities.
Sailing: The sailing program at Judson is for beginner as well as the experienced sailor. Novice sailors learn the basics of sailing on the serene waters of the pond, while intermediate and advanced students apply the skills they have acquired to the new challenge of sailing on Lake Erie. It's a great way to discover Judson's beautiful waterfront.

Swimmer improve their swimming skills at the pool.
Swimming: All swimming classes are taught by Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructors. Certification cards are earned by completing seven levels of skills tests. Campers will learn basic water safety and master a variety of strokes. There's no better place to be on a hot summer day than in the pool at Judson!
Canoeing: Campers choosing this elective will learn how to handle a canoe properly. Training will take place on the pond and certificates can be earned with experience. Water battles and canoe races are all part of the fun.

Water Sports: This elective is a natural choice for those who love the water. Our water sports elective focuses on enjoying the games of water volleyball, basketball, water polo and snorkeling. Knee boarding and water skiing on the lake may also be offered, weather permitting.
Sports: This elective is a great choice for anyone who enjoys sports. Our sports elective focuses on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and learning basic rules and techniques for a variety of games. Soccer, football, and basketball on Camp Judson's basketball court are just a few of the sports you can experience during your week at camp.
Archery: The archery program helps the experienced bowman refine his or her technique and teaches the beginner the basics of archery and archery safety. Pins are awarded to those accomplishing various skill levels.
Crafts: Crafts is a great elective for campers who like to work with their hands and make cool projects. Some of the crafts we'll work on include jewelry (for guys and girls) and some other in-style wearable art. It's a fun way to take a break from the sun and make some fun, new things with friends.
Climbing Tower: New to Judson is a rock climbing and rappelling elective. Safely learn the skills of rock climbing and rappelling on our new 40 foot climbing tower. And for a real "RUSH", zip across the entire length of the pond starting from the top of the tower! Put adventure, thrill and a sense of accomplishment into your life with this newest opportunity.
