The following is a list of paid jobs available for this summer at Judson Baptist Camp in North Springfield, PA. Employment periods vary and are listed with individual job descriptions. ALL STAFF are required to be in attendance at Staff Training prior to employment. Other pre-camp training sessions may be required of some positions. In addition to the salaries listed the camp will provide room and board.

SENIOR COUNSELORS
SALARY: $172.01/WK
June 1 - August 2, 2008
AGE: 19 AND UP

The central person in the ministry of a Christian Camp is the Sr. Counselor. His/Her role is to spend twenty-two(22) hours per day participating in the program and interacting with his/her campers in a way that will lead the young person to a meaningful experience of Christian living

HEAD WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR
SALARY: $172.01/WK
June 1 - August 2, 2008
AGE: 18 AND UP

Current certification as Red Cross WSI and Lifeguard required. Experience in sailing and canoeing preferred. In charge of scheduling waterfront personnel and equipment. You will be teaching swimming classes to campers. The WSI will help with all waterfront programs including staff activities and camper instruction. He/She will also guard waterfront used by daily visitors, as well as ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of the pool and waterfront equipment.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR
SALARY: $159.65/WK

June 1 - August 2, 2008
AGE: 18 AND UP

Current certification as Red Cross Lifeguard. Responsibilities will include daily life guarding, assisting in special waterfront events and class instruction, maintenance of pool and waterfront equipment.


HEAD WRANGLER

May 25 - August 16, 2008
AGE: 18 AND UP

Current Camp Horsemanship Association Certifications as instructor needed. (Training is available by arrangement with the Managing Director.) The Head Wrangler will be responsible for all programs that involve campers and/or staff in riding activities and class instruction in horsemanship. He/She will also schedule and supervise daily trail rides as well as ensure proper care and feeding of horses, and maintenance of riding area, corral, tack, shelter, and equipment.


ASSISTANT WRANGLER

AGE: 16 AND UP

Current Camp Horsemanship Association Certification as instructor needed. (Training is available by arrangement with the Managing Director.) Responsibilities include assistance in daily instructional sessions, trail rides, and care of the horses and tack, as assigned by the Head Wrangler.


SENIOR CAMP SERVICE PERSONNEL

AGE: 16 AND UP

He/She will perform various maintenance functions necessary in the overall operation of the camp. His/Her tasks are assigned by the Managing Director on a daily basis. He?She will also delegate jobs and supervise the performance of Junior CSP's (Camp Service Personnel). Indoor and outdoor positions are available.


JUNIOR CAMP SERVICE PERSONNEL
SALARY:

June 8 - August 2, 2008

He/she will perform various maintenance functions such as mowing grass, hauling garbage, moving equipment, and keeping things in good repair. He/She will be supervised by the Senior CSP each day. Indoor & outdoor positions available.


HEAD COOK
SALARY:
$270.89 - $375.95/wk
June 1 - August 16, 2008
AGE: 21 AND UP

The position of head cook is one of the most important and demanding jobs at camp. He/She is responsible for planning menus, ordering food, preparing and serving meals, and supervising the kitchen staff. We serve 150 staff and campers per day. The salary will be determined on the basis of previous experience.


ASSISTANT COOK
SALARY:
$220.42 - $321.36/wk
June 8 - August 2, 2008
AGE: 19 AND UP

The applicant for this job must have some experience in the preparation of meals for large groups. He/she will be responsible to the Head Cook. When the Head Cook is off, the Assistant Cook will be responsible for preparation of all meals. Salary will be on the basis of previous experience.


COOK'S HELPER
SALARY:
$126.69/WK

AGE: 18 AND UP

The Cook's Helper will assist the Head Cook and Assistant Cook in the daily preparation of meals. The daily work schedule will focus around meal times with some time off between meals.
